Stone & Stillness Cafe
Commercial Los Angeles
Stone & Stillness Cafe transforms a decommissioned firehouse into a contemplative space of calm and ritual. At its heart is a hand-carved stone counter, anchoring the interior with a sense of permanence and craft. Soft, diffused daylight washes over textured surfaces, evoking clarity and quietude. Inspired by Japanese minimalism and the rhythms of daily ritual, the design balances raw materiality with spatial restraint. The architecture invites pause—merging stillness with the tactile presence of stone in a setting once defined by urgency.
